Trump DOJ Drops the Hammer on Anti-ICE Activists Who Invaded Minnesota Church

If the left-wing activists who stormed a church in Minnesota thought they’d escape accountability, they were wrong. The Trump administration has just filed a wave of new charges against 30 individuals connected to that incident. FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed that over 20 arrests were made on Friday.

Back in January, a group of Anti-ICE activists many linked to Minnesota’s Black Lives Matter movement invaded Cities Church in St. Paul, with left-wing journalist Don Lemon in tow. Footage taken by Lemon himself ended up being a key piece of evidence, and he now faces charges for allegedly coordinating and participating in the attack.

It’s almost ironic that these charges fall under the FACE Act. Under the Biden administration, that same law was aggressively used against pro-life activists, some of whom were simply standing outside abortion clinics. The DOJ didn’t hold back either, seeking lengthy prison sentences. Lauren Handy, for example, was sentenced to nearly five years for a supposed blockade of a clinic until Trump pardoned her in 2025.

The lesson is clear: what goes around comes around. While many Republicans still question the constitutionality of the FACE Act, it remains the law. If Democrats are going to weaponize it, there’s no room for compromise when the tables are turned. Allowing leftists to storm churches without serious consequences sends the wrong message.

Claims that this was a “peaceful protest” or that the invaders were exercising a “First Amendment right” are nonsense. Blocking exits, harassing worshippers, and taking over a service crosses every line. Left-wing activists only respond to tangible consequences. Unfortunately, liberal judges could still intervene and let some of them off the hook. Even when the evidence is clear, common sense doesn’t always prevail in the judicial system but in this case, it should.
