“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, ever."

Bad Bunny clearly didn’t impress President Donald Trump.

Not long after the Super Bowl halftime show wrapped up, Trump didn’t mince words, calling it one of the worst performances the event has ever seen. In his view, the show missed the mark on what a Super Bowl halftime is supposed to represent.

Trump criticized the performance for being entirely in Spanish, saying most viewers couldn’t understand what was being said. For an event watched by tens of millions of Americans, he argued that the halftime show should reflect shared culture and values, not leave much of the audience feeling disconnected. He also took issue with the choreography, which featured sexually suggestive dancing, saying it was inappropriate for a family event watched by children across the country and around the world.

More broadly, Trump said the show felt disrespectful at a time when, under his leadership, the country was hitting major milestones. He pointed to record-breaking stock market performance and strong 401(k) growth, arguing that America’s success and confidence weren’t reflected on that stage at all. Instead, he said the show sent the wrong message and lacked anything uplifting or inspirational. He added that while the media would likely praise the performance, it once again showed how out of touch “fake news” outlets are with regular Americans. He even slipped in criticism of the NFL itself, saying the league should scrap its new kickoff rule.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell pushed back on the criticism ahead of the game, saying the halftime show is meant to bring people together and describing Bad Bunny as one of the world’s top artists.

The controversy didn’t end there. Turning Point USA organized an alternative halftime show after Bad Bunny was selected, especially given the singer’s public criticism of Trump-era immigration policies. A week before the Super Bowl, while accepting a Grammy, Bad Bunny made explicit remarks against ICE, framing immigration enforcement as hateful and dehumanizing. He called for responding to hate with love, saying immigrants are human beings and Americans.

In contrast, TPUSA’s alternative halftime event drew millions of viewers and featured artists like Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. For many conservatives, it offered a version of halftime entertainment that felt more in line with traditional American culture and values something they believe the official NFL show has increasingly drifted away from.

  1. Your analysis was spot on. Unfortunately I was unable to find it. Rather than ruin an otherwise good time i watched something else.

  2. I figured BB show would suck just like the game so at half time i turned to Turning Point for some real entertainment and it was just as I expected solid good entertainment based on what our forefathers wanted a country based on Christian morality

  3. For Trump, to speak in a foreign language is offensive. That is the opinion of a president who has a poor education.
My grandaughters speak 3 languages, British English, which has some variations from American English ; they were born in England and their father is British.
They also speak I talian, because they lived in Italy for almost 6 years; they went to
